What’s going on this St. Patrick’s Day weekend in Olathe and Kansas City?
It’s a great weekend to be out and about celebrating the fun spirited holiday of St. Patrick’s Day. In addition to parades, there are other fun area events to participate in for great causes.
In North Kansas City, Snake Saturday is kicking off today with a cook off, then the parade is at 11am on Saturday. This fun carnival style event has been in place for over 30 years.

If you are looking for something local and fun to do – this should easily make your “to-do” list! I know that several of our team members plan on attending. It’s going to be a busy weekend with beautiful weather and warm temperatures. One of our agents has made it a point to show Olathe area homes for sale early in the morning to make sure that she can be back by parade time!
If you are in the area in Shawnee on March 16th, The annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Duck Races will be going on! The parade begins at 1pm and the duck races start at 4:30pm. Check out their website for more information on how to purchase a duck for $5 – one of those could be a lucky duck and win a ton o’ cash!
The Heroes Pull will be on Sunday March 16th at 2:30pm to benefit the Special Olympics. This is Shawnee event where 2 teams compete to pull different hero’s vehicles weighing approximately 38,000 lbs. Each vehicle is pulled by teams in a timed event. Many of our local police, EMS, Military, Civic Leaders and small businesses have set up teams to participate in this one of a kind benefit to raise funds for Special Olympics.
Where ever you end up this weekend, enjoy the weather and time with your family!
